\n
\nAdvantages:
\n
\nNuclear power costs about the same as coal, so it's not expensive to make.
\n
\nDoes not produce smoke or carbon dioxide, so it does not contribute to the greenhouse effect.
\n
\nProduces huge amounts of energy from small amounts of fuel.
\n
\nProduces small amounts of waste.
\n
\nNuclear power is reliable.
\n
\nDisadvantages:
\n
\nAlthough not much waste is produced, it is very, very dangerous.
\nIt must be sealed up and buried for many thousands of years to allow the radioactivity to die away.
\nFor all that time it must be kept safe from earthquakes, flooding, terrorists and everything else. This is difficult.
\n
\nNuclear power is reliable, but a lot of money has to be spent on safety - if it does go wrong, a nuclear accident can be a major disaster.
\nPeople are increasingly concerned about this - in the 1990's nuclear power was the fastest-growing source of power in much of the world. In 2005 it was the second slowest-growing.","dateCreated":"1318219639","smartDate":"Oct 9, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"Connorwat","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Connorwat","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1318392505\/Connorwat-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"44078581","body":"Advantages and Disadvantages of nuclear power is an evenly contested argument. Some Advantages of nuclear power is Cost the same as coal and most focial fuels but the differences is Nuclear power produce huge amount energy for a small amount of fuel.
\n
\n Nuclear power is a strong and reliable source of power. Nuclear power also dosen't polute the atmosphere with carbon dioxide and dosn't cause Green house affect.
\n
\nThe disadvanges of Nuclear power Is even though it dosn't harm the atmoshere if it isn't disposded of proply the effects of on the enironment could be distructive Nuclear power is very dangers to humans nuclear radiation if we are exposed to much of it will kill. It also kills and destroys the all form of life. with a nuclear rector in a natural disarster will cause the rector to explode.
\nNuclear power is one altern form of power to replace coal in the futer but there are many more.","dateCreated":"1318391734","smartDate":"Oct 11, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"azanchetta","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/azanchetta","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"44131793","body":"There are obviously many advantages when it comes to nuclear power: huge amounts of power from small amounts of fuel; doesn't produce greenhouse gases; relatively cheap.
\nHowever, even though it is quite a reliable source of power, it isn't 100% safe, and if something goes wrong in the production of nuclear power it can go wrong in a big way. The recent incident at Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan is a perfect example.
\nAlthough nuclear power is a very efficient and effective means of generating power, more study must go into making the production of nuclear power more safe.","dateCreated":"1318458330","smartDate":"Oct 12, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"rmaguire7","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/rmaguire7","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"44224102","body":"like Ryan said, nuclear power has got it's advantages, but you can't have a fukashima disaster in any of Australia's major cities because they are the country's most populated areas. Australia has lots of beutiful environments, and one tiny little mistake from nuclear power and that all disappears, its just to risky to rely compleatly on nuclear energy, and then have plants all over Australia.","dateCreated":"1318553800","smartDate":"Oct 13, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"nobrien95","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/nobrien95","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1318391753\/nobrien95-lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
